TYPE: W&T | PACE: Conversational (2-3 mph) |TERRAIN: Lots of sidewalk, small hills, dirt/pebble trail | DIFFICULTY: Moderate| DISTANCE: Approx. 4 miles
Walk Description: In partnership with the High Line Canal Conservancy, we will walk the entire High Line Canal, one segment at a time, covering most of the 71-mile trail. Check out our overview page here for more information on all of our walking events.
Segment 3 of 14, Miles 6-8-6 | Down n Back Plum Creek : On this segment, we’ll pick the trail up at mile 6.6 and do a down and back to mile 8, for a total of about 4 miles. There is no parking near mile 10, where the trail disconnects from its mile 11. We’ll learn why this area has inaccessibility around Plum Creek, but we’ll also enjoy beautiful vistas of the mountains and the riparian landscape. We continue walking through the Rolling Hills Zone.

Meeting Location, Parking, and Planning: Park at 11490 Roxborough Park Rd, Littleton, CO. This parking area is the start and end of the walk for this segment. Please be parked and ready to walk at 8:45 am. We will leave no later than 9:05 am.
Bring: At least 2 bottles of water, dinner, appropriate clothing for the weather, sunscreen, hat, and snacks.

-All walkers who complete at least one segment of the Connecting the Canal Event will receive a water bottle from High Line Conservancy. For the walkers who complete all 14 segments of the Connecting the Canal event series according to the official schedule will receive a 71 mile token from the High Line Canal Conservancy.
-We will take breaks along the way as we find shade or welcoming spots.
-Although the trip leader will bring snacks, please be sure you are packing what you need to be comfortable, quenched, and fed.
-Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and you may also want to include appropriate outerwear, hats, and gloves to accommodate for the weather.
Cancellation Policy: We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path, such as ice, hail, or lightening. Check Meetup or text the walk leader for the most up-to-date conditions.
