An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Friday, repeating indefinitely
TYPE: STSP | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Sidewalk, broken sidewalk, park paths, and some street | DISTANCE: Approximately 3 miles
Walk Description: Join Berth Gomez on a community walk on Denver’s west-side looping neighborhood streets, parks, and more. This will be a casual, fun, and conversational walk with residents and volunteers. Please be flexible with your timing for this walk as sometimes it will start later than 10:00 am and will arrive later (or earlier) than 11:30 am. If you do not connect with Bertha by phone or email, you are welcome to still show up as the group is more than likely always walking on Fridays at this time.
Schedule, Transit and Planning: We will meet at 10:00 a.m. just inside of the resource center or just outside the front door on the SE facing side of the building. Nearest transit routes are: 1, 16, 30, 30L, 31, 36L.
Walking Movement Leader: Bertha Gomez is the Site Manager at A New Day Family Resource Center (14th & Grove)
~ Well-behaved dogs are allowed. No retractable leashes, please.
~ Wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
~ Bring water, snacks and sun protection.
~ Consider bringing a camera to take and share photos.
Cancellation Policy: Should a cancellation be required, it will be posted as soon as possible.
Waivers: Consider filling our the Walk2Connect “Welcome Waiver” or download, print, sign, and turn in a hard copy if this will be your first Walk2Connect walking experience this year. You will also be asked to sign a separate participation waiver with the Mental Health Center of Denver at the start of the walk.
