Walk Description: Saturday, December 9, marks the grand opening of the brand-new Creekside Play Area at the Boulder Public Library – part of Boulder’s beautifully redesigned Civic Area Park. We’ll meet up at the south entrance to the Library following the playground opening festivities and take a tour through the Civic Area on our way to the free community skate at the WinterSkate rink next to the Dushanbe Teahouse. The FREE community skate is part of the city’s Snow Much Fun celebration (see this site for details). This short walk is appropriate for all ages. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun in the heart of Boulder!
Schedule and Planning: Our walk starts at the south entrance to the Library, just south of the new play area. We will start walking by 1:35 and arrive at the WinterSkate rink no later than 2:15.
Walking Movement Leader: Darcy Kitching is a professional member-owner of the Walk2Connect Co-op and the Walk2Connect Boulder program manager. She coordinates regular Boulder Walks events like this one, organized in cooperation with the City of Boulder’s GO Boulder program.
Cancellation Policy: This event will take place regardless of the weather, unless there is a major snowstorm or other dangerous weather. Check Meetup or text the walk leader for the most up-to-date conditions.
Welcome Waivers: Please fill out the online “Welcome Waiver” or download, print, sign, and turn in a hard copy if this will be your first Walk2Connect walking experience this year.
RSVP: You can register for this walk by A) signing up on the Boulder Ramblers Meetup, or B) emailing or calling Darcy at email@example.com or 303-250-2436.
About Boulder Ramblers:
The Colorado-based Walk2Connect Cooperative works with individuals and organizations to create innovative walking programs focused on connecting to others, to place and to self. Our Boulder community, Boulder Ramblers, offers a variety of local walks and hikes led by trained volunteer Walking Movement Leaders in Boulder, Longmont and Louisville. We also partner with GO Boulder to develop walking events that orient community members to the city’s pedestrian facilities and invite feedback about them. All over Colorado, W2C principals and trained volunteer Walking Movement Leaders lead dozens of free community walks every week.
