Walk2Connect Certified Walking Trip Leader Training!

July 11, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The demand is increasing for Walk2Connect walking programs and we are eager to train more folks to be Certified Walking Trip Leaders “Ambassadors” to keep the movement going! There are several opportunities coming up this year for walking enthusiasts to lead and to inspire people with the many benefits of walking. This half-day session will include: communication tools, route selection, trip facilitation, Walk2Connect culture, social media and finances. There will also be a hands-on 1 hour walking trip to apply and hone trip management with tips on leading people comfortably and effectively on trails, streets, corridors etc.

Participants who complete the course will be eligible to lead: Free Weekly Walks, half-day to full-day trips, themed walking trips and trips for Walk2Connect contracts. We will also talk through payment for your time if you decide to do paid trips at any point.

*Can’t make the training, but want to be a trip leader? We’ll have more trainings throughout the year and if this is something you want to do fairly soon, please feel free to email Jonathon directly at jonathon (at) walk2connect (dot) com

Cost: This training costs $10 and will include W2C trip leader training materials, snacks, light dinner, and beverages. Get tickets below if you want to pay with a credit card. Please email to RSVP if you want to pay with cash or check.

Capacity: We are capping the walking trip leader training to 10 people. If there are no more tickets, please feel free to sign-up for next training being held on Friday, September 26th at 5:30PM. Feel free to email Jonathon at the email noted below if you would like to be added to the wait list.

Life@3MPH Membership: We highly encourage our “Ambassadors” to become Life@3MPH Members at the Wayfarer level to sport the Life@3MPH t-shirt when they are leading trips. This is NOT required. ; )

An optional beer afterwards? We will head over to Our Mutual Friend Brewing Co. after the training to have a locally crafted beer if you want to join. This is optional of course!
