Walk Description: In partnership with the High Line Canal Conservancy, we will walk the entire High Line Canal, one segment at a time, covering most of the 71-mile trail. Check out our overview page here for more information on all of our walking events.
Segment 4 of 14, Miles 10-15 | Fly’n B Highlands Ranch: On this segment, we’ll resume at the big break in the trail, where the Canal cannot be walked between miles 10 and 8. We will pick up the trail at mile marker 10 and continue north near the railroad lines. This segment of the trail traverses quite a variety of areas, including crossing Santa Fe, ambling through Highlands Ranch, and finishing at the Fly’n B Ranch. We’ll be walking right along the bottom of the foothills, and we’ll continue in the Rolling Foothills Zone.
Walking Movement Leader: Robbin Mitchell has walked the entire High Line Canal twice and as a Walking Movement Leader, leads walks all over Aurora.
Meeting Location, Parking, and Planning: Park at Fly N B, 2157 Plaza Drive, Littleton, CO. This parking area is the end of the walk for this segment. We will meet at the end of the segment, park, and then carpool to the beginning of the segment. Please be parked and ready to walk at 8:45 am. We will leave no later than 9:05 to the starting destination. We will walk the segment together. At the end of the walk, we will carpool back to the beginning of the segment to return people to their cars. If you are not comfortable carpooling, please make other arrangements to meet us at the start of the walk and for you to depart the walk. Alternatively, you can take a Lyft. If you use this link and you’re a new Lyft user, you get a credit toward your first ride. If you have questions about how parking/carpooling/transit will work, please contact Robbin.
