Aurora Morning Amble (STSP)

April 29 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

TYPE: STSP Weekly | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Flat paved & unpaved trail | DISTANCE: Approx. 4.5 mi |

Walk Description: 90 minute walks around Aurora via the High Line and West Gate Toll Trails.  Come join us for a fun, easy-going, communal and social on-foot experience to start your day.  This is also a great way to meet other ‘daily’ walking friends nearby. These walks are very informal and give us all unique opportunities to connect with one another, ourselves and our surroundings. his walk goes rain, shine, snow, but temps must be above 0 and sidewalks clear.

EXPECT TO MAKE SOME FABULOUS CONNECTIONS!

Walking Movement Leader: You are welcome to text me in the morning to check status or confirm the walk is going. See my contact information below. But remember, no news is good news. We go unless otherwise notified. Cheers, Donna

Schedule & Meeting Location: We will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the alcove of the Aurora Central Library [14949 E. Alameda] and we’ll talk through Walk2Connect goals, answer any questions and to lightly warm up.  Please bring water and a snack.  There are no facilities along the walk. We should be done walking no later than 10:30 a.m.

Trip Notes:

-During the summer we walk at 6:30am and 8:30am. You can learn about the 6:30am walk here.

-Plenty of parking.

-We will be doing a loop going back to our starting location. (Please be sure you are confident your dog can handle 5 miles and cooler temps when walking in Fall and Winter and insure that your dog is calm, well behaved and MUST stay leashed. Please be sure to bring baggies to scoop poop.)

-There are no places to use the restroom on the walk once we leave the library. We will take a break halfway.

-Consider Bringing: Comfortable socks & shoes (pref. NON cotton socks!), light backpack w/water and snack foods (almonds, bars, fruit), gloves, scarf, beanie, camera, sunglasses & sunscreen (and hat if you wear them), and bring many (thinner) layers depending on anticipated temperature and light rain gear just in case.

-Cancellation Policy: We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path, such as ice, hail, or lightening. Check Meetup or text the walk leader for the most up-to-date conditions.

Welcome Waivers: Please fill out the online “Welcome Waiver” or download, print, sign, and turn in a hard copy if this will be your first Walk2Connect walking experience.

RSVP: You can RSVP by emailing or calling Donna below or by joining our Colorado Ramblers Meetup group and signing up there.
